Individual, Couples & Family Therapy
Medication Management
Chemical/addiction Group
FIC helps people deal with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, oppositional behaviors, self-esteem, relationships, family and couples issues. The focus is upon making healthy decisions and not tolerating unhealthy behaviors. Sessions can be weekly or biweekly depending on the needs of the individual.
Barriatric Support Group
This group is for people who are going for any of the barriatric surgeries. The group is comprised of people going for the surgery and who have already had the surgery. This group covers topics like what to expect after surgery with eating and how to change your thoughts around food. There are three different group times every week. You can only attend one group per week and it does not need to be the same time each week. Groups meet on Mondays at 12p and 6p and Wednesdays at 7p.
FIC has two APRN's on staff that work in conjunction with the clinicians. FIC believes the medication is needed in some cases but is not the only answer. Medication works best when combined with therapy. In order to see either of the APRN's you need to be seen for individual therapy a minimum of twice a month.
FIC uses the assertive early intervention approach to addiction. This group provides open-ended therapy for those peopel who are chemically dependent and are attempting to maintain sobriety. We advocate active, ongoing participation in a twelve-step, self-help program. This is a once a week support group, held on Wednesday's at 6pm.
Co-dependency Group
Planned Interventions
This group provided support and ongoing group therapy for those people who exhibit co-dependency behaviors. The therapy is designed to enhance their communication skills and develop better ways to handle their lives, thereby improving their interpersonal relationships as well as their intrapersonal relationships. Clients are encouraged to attend regular self-help meetings for ongoing support and continued wellness. This group meets every Monday at 7pm.
FIC provides planned interventions to support family and concerned people dealing with an addicted person. Planned interventions are a series of sessions with the important people in a chemically dependent person's life for the purpose of intervening in the cycle of addiction. The goal is to move the chemically dependent person into treatment. These are done by appointment only.
